Get back to that nice clean and tidy desktop you remember from when you first got your Mac.
If you are someone who saves everything to your desktop incase you later need it, then it might be time you start to clear it down.
There are a few ways of doing this depending on how much time you have spare.
First the quickest, since Spotlight or cmd space is excellent at finding anything, create a flyer called archive at your desired location and simply cut and paste everything into the folder. Now if you need to find anything just hit cmd space and search for it. You have successfully cleared your desktop.
Another way would be to use the find and sort by Date Modified, anything you have used recently will be the easiest to file away. The others you may wish to just trash. If hard drive space is not an issue then you have no need to worry.
After you have achieved this, set your self a reminder to conduct this maintenance weekly.
