Summer has arrived, and plenty of you are looking to get your next holiday booked. However, there’s a lot of planning to do, and this can often be a little confusing, long-winded and expensive. However, you can make this a lot cheaper, easier and quicker by just taking advantage of some of the most useful apps available on Apple’s App Store. Check out a few of our favourites below.
Booking Your Trip
If you’re looking to go away on a budget, then lowcostholidays will save you a penny or two. Browse through locations, dates, hotels and more.
Look out for all the bargain trips away with Holiday Pirates. Often presenting last minute deals, these packages range from a short weekend away to holidays longer than a week or more.

Not sure whether you should visit a certain place? Trip Advisor collects all customers and critics reviews in one place, so you can decide if it is worth checking out. This site also offers comprehensive information on tourist areas, restaurants, hotels and more, along with photographs, maps and directions.
Learn The Language
This free language app not only makes learning fun, but it’s also a fantastic way to learn. The app offers the basics in grammar and vocabulary, which is perfect for preparing for your trip abroad. Users will start to master the basics of their chosen language as they advance through levels and pick up experience points along the way.
Another language app, Rosetta Stone is perhaps the most well known language service out there. In the iOS version, you’ll be able to learn up to 24 languages including Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, German, English, French and Italian. Each lesson allows you to work at your own pace as you take tests, try short games and try out the useful speech recognition software to test out your pronunciation.
This incredibly handy app will translate over 32 languages. Translate as you type, use the iPhone camera for instant translations of signs and more, and draw characters onto the screen.
Check The Weather
Don’t get caught in the rain on your travels with the BBC Weather app. This app uses your current location to determine what the weather is going to be like
Travelling in a foreign city can be a little daunting, especially if you’ve never been there before. Thankfully, Citymapper offers plenty of help and reassurance.
